A gallant knight,
一豪侠骑士
In sunshine and in shadow,

Had journeyed long,
远道而来，
Singing a song,

In search of Eldorado.

But he grew old –

This knight so bold –

And o'er his heart a shadow

Fell as he found

No spot of ground

That looked like Eldorado.

And, as his strength
他的气力
Failed him at length,
终于耗尽，
He met a pilgrim shadow -

"Shadow," said he,
“影子，”他问，
"Where can it be –
“它会在哪里－－
This land of Eldorado?"
那个地方，爱尔朵拉多？”
"Over the mountains
“翻过山去，
Of the Moon,
月亮上的山，
Down the Valley of the Shadow,
再沿着影子溪谷下去，
Ride, boldly ride,"
勇往直前，”
The shade replied -
影子回答说：
"If you seek for Eldorado!"
“如果你找爱尔朵拉多。”
