第125章讲到了爱迪生隐藏的毒鸡汤，但后面那句毒鸡汤不是爱迪生说的。 第一个版本是来自一个笔名叫Cindi Myers写的文章，但很明显她是先引用爱迪生的话，然后在引申出结论。（下面原文） Inspiration and Perspiration By Cindi Myers Thomas Edison said, “Genius is one percent inspiration and ninety-nine percent perspiration.” Without the one percent of inspiration, all the perspiration in the world is only a bucket of sweat. 引号是爱迪生说的话，后面那句“Without the one percent of inspiration, all the perspiration in the world is only a bucket of sweat.（但如果没有1%的灵感，那99%的汗水就只是汗水）”是论文作者自己的观点。也就是爱迪生没说过后面这句丧气话。 还有一个版本： Variant forms without early citation: “Genius is one percent inspiration and ninety-nine per cent perspiration. Accordingly, a genius is often merely a talented person who has done all of his or her homework.”（这个版本出处未知） 这句话中"Accordingly"后面的句子意思是“因此，天才不过是一个经常能完成自己本职的聪明人而已”。所以也与毒鸡汤无关。 第三个版本 “None of my inventions came by accident. I see a worthwhile need to be met and I make trial after trial until it comes.What it boils down to is one per cent inspiration and ninety-nine per cent perspiration.” 先来看这句话的大意“我的发明中没一个是偶然得到的。当我发现一个有价值的需求时，我会不断努力直到成功。总结起来就是天才就是百分之一的灵感加上百分之九十九的勤奋” 从这句话中很明显也没有看到任何所谓的“后半句”，更多的是强调勤奋的作用。
